Review & Sentence Playback
Review closes the loop: spaced repetition fights forgetting; sentence playback preserves context.
Where Does the Queue Come From?
Words marked “unknown” during study enter the review queue. Spaced repetition schedules them roughly at:
- 1st review: ~1 day after learning
- 2nd: ~3 days
- 3rd: ~7 days
- Later: ~30 days and beyond (exact algorithm is in-app)
Successful recall lengthens the interval; failures shorten it.
A Typical Review Session
- Open Today’s Review or Due;
- See (or hear) the word—try to recall meaning and usage first;
- Self-check, then reveal the answer;
- Tap Play original sentence: jump to the video moment from first study;
- Rate remembered / fuzzy / forgot so the next interval updates.
Why Sentence Playback Matters
Words are easier to retain in meaningful context. Playback restores tone, tension, and comic timing—not just a dictionary gloss.
If a word stays fuzzy, return to Learning Session and read more surrounding lines in the same episode.
Why This Design?
Without sentences, words become abstract symbols. Prism Lines keeps a one-tap back to the line on review so each word reconnects to the scene you watched. Background: Why Learn This Way.
